Knowing me I may do this for a bit then fall off for a while, but wanted to give it a shot!</p> <p>I've recently been playing around a bunch both with homelab projects &amp; some side coding projects that I thought would be worth occasionally blogging about how things are going. May help me retain anything interesting. Maybe others will be curious, we'll see.</p> <p>This is currently a self-hosted blog using <a rel="external" href="https://www.getzola.org/">Zola</a> on my homelab k3s cluster. A home cluster is totally overkill but I really enjoyed setting it up &amp; like the idea that it can shuffle things around if a node goes down, not that I have anything setup for high availability yet, but it will at least recover after a few.</p> <h2 id="self-hosting-obsession">Self Hosting Obsession<a class="post-anchor" href="#self-hosting-obsession" aria-label="Anchor link for: self-hosting-obsession"><span aria-hidden="true">#</span></a> </h2> <p>I've been on a self-hosted kick in general lately, so thought I'd share some favorite services I got running so far:</p> <ul> <li><a rel="external" href="https://linkwarden.app/">LinkWarden</a> - A really nice bookmarking app with shared collections, url snapshotting and more.</li> <li><a rel="external" href="https://audiobookshelf.org/">Audiobookshelf</a> - A fantastic audiobook server with many great mobile apps that can talk to it. I love <a rel="external" href="https://prologue.audio/">Prologue</a> on my iPhone the most so far.</li> <li><a rel="external" href="https://pocket-id.org/">Pocket ID</a> - A OIDC authentication provider that only deals in Passkeys to keep things easy &amp; secure.</li> <li><a rel="external" href="https://forgejo.org/">Forgejo</a> - A really nice self hostable git forge, been really liking it so far.</li> </ul> <p>I also subscribe to <a rel="external" href="https://selfh.st/">selfh.st</a> newsletter so I'm always looking forward to that &amp; seeing what interesting new self hostable services are out there, or promising updates to ones I use. Great newsletter if you're also interested in self hosting.</p> <h2 id="projects">Projects<a class="post-anchor" href="#projects" aria-label="Anchor link for: projects"><span aria-hidden="true">#</span></a> </h2> <p>I also have some projects I periodically work on when the ADHD isn't making me hyperfocus on something else. These are a few recent ones though I have more, not counting the homelab which is a constant project 😅.</p> <ul> <li><a rel="external" href="https://git.knope.dev/jfro/fuzzy_catalog">FuzzyCatalog</a> - Attempt at book cataloging, specially support for physical books with barcode scanning.</li> <li><a rel="external" href="https://git.knope.dev/jfro/book-downloader/">BookDownloader</a> - An app to help download or automatically download ebooks &amp; audiobooks to my NAS from Audible/Kobo/LibroFM.</li> <li><a rel="external" href="https://git.knope.dev/lodge/lodge-core">The Lodge</a> - Nostalgia fueled attempt at making something like The Palace chat software, though maybe not limited to only graphical chat.
